Jaepie-Jaepie
Jacob Glas (* 1832 - October 5, 1910 ), better known as Jaepie-Jaepie , was one of the most famous men of the sea rescue station in Egmond aan Zee in North Holland . He is credited with saving 170 lives over the course of 44 years of service. On July 23, 1999, a bronze statue was erected in his honor in Egmond aan Zee.
