The Lichtenwald hunting lodge ( Zámeček Lichtenvald in Czech , also known as Lichtenwaldstein or Lichtwallenstein on old maps ) is located south of Český Jiřetín on the summit of Bradáčov (876 m) in the Ore Mountains , Czech Republic .

history

Model of the hunting lodge

Emanuel Filibert von Waldstein had it built for his wife, Princess Marie Anna Theresia von Liechtenstein (1738-1814), by JM Rüttig from Bílina (Bilin) in 1761-1767. The individual buildings form a circle consisting of a baroque castle, forester's house, gatehouse, stables and wagon shed, and they are visibly made of wood. To the southeast, a dead straight avenue led to the Jiřík forester's lodge ( Georgshöhe ) on Wieselstein . Wapiti deer, among other things, were bred on the site in 1848 . The entire property, now 1980 hectares, was taken over by the Czech state in 1923.

The buildings are not accessible today, are partly used by the forest administration as storage rooms and have been externally restored.
