Jainal Antel Sali junior
Abu Sulaiman (born June 1, 1964 in Zamboanga City , Mindanao as Jainal Antel Sali junior ; † January 16, 2007 on the island of Jolo ) was a Filipino extremist and terrorist and was considered one of the five top people of the Islamist extremist organization Abu Sajaf .
Sulaiman was charged with kidnapping three US citizens and 17 Filipinos from the Dos Palmos resort on the Palawan Islands in May 2001. In addition, he is said to have been involved in a bomb explosion on board a ferry off Manila, in which more than 200 people died.
Abu Sulaiman was shot dead by government forces during an attempted arrest in the mountains of Jolo Island. A total of more than 7,000 Filipino soldiers, supported by US military advisors , are said to have been involved in the search for him and other members of the Abu Sajaf.
