Jake Rodriguez
Jake Rodriguez (* 2. October 1965 in Arroyo , Puerto Rico as Evaristo Rodriguez ) is a former Puerto Rican boxer in the Light Welterweight . On February 13, 1994, he took Charles Murray from the IBF World Champion Belt by majority vote. On January 28, 1995 he lost the title in Las Vegas against the Russian boxer Kostya Tszyu, who had become native to Australia, by technical knockout in round 6. After two consecutive victories, he lost to Pernell Whitaker on November 18, 1995 in Atlantic City , when attempting the title to win the WBC (World Boxing Council) welterweight, also in round 6. After four more premature defeats, he ended his career as a professional boxer in 1997. His professional record is: 28 wins (8 KOs) - 8 losses - 2 draws
