Anda Uldum

Andreas "Anda" René Uldum (born April 21, 1979 in Qeqertarsuaq ) is a Greenlandic politician ( Demokraatit ) and musician .

Life

Anda Uldum is the son of Nils and Ane Sofie Uldum. He has two children with his wife Charlotte Marie. He is a trained social pedagogue and worked as a child and youth advisor for the Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq . He was best known in Greenland as the guitarist of the rock band Disko Democratic Republic ( GDR ).

He ran for a seat in the Inatsisartut for the first time in the 2009 parliamentary elections , achieved the fifth-best result of his party and thus came first for the Democrats. Since Jens B. Frederiksen was appointed minister, Anda Uldum moved up to parliament. In 2012, he replaced Palle Christiansen as party vice chairman. In the election in March 2013 , he achieved the third-best result among his party colleagues, but because this time the Democrats only achieved two seats, he still only came first. Palle Christiansen resigned from the Inatsisartut in October of the same year and Anda Uldum took his place. In the local elections in 2013 he became a member of the municipal council of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq.

When Jens B. Frederiksen stepped down as party leader, Anda Uldum was elected as his successor in March 2014. In the 2014 parliamentary election , he was able to more than quintuple his number of votes and was given a permanent place in the Inatsisartut. He was then appointed Minister of Finance and Raw Materials and Deputy Prime Minister in the Kielsen I cabinet , whereupon he withdrew from his place on the local council.

At the beginning of November 2015, he initially took a three-month leave of absence due to stress. In mid-January 2016, Uldum announced that he was withdrawing from Greenlandic politics. Since his wife is starting an apprenticeship in Denmark, he will move there with his family.
