Yakiv Illitsch Schelesnjak ( Ukrainian Я́ків Іллі́ч Железня́к ; born April 10, 1941 in Odessa , Ukrainian SSR ) is a former Soviet sports shooter .
successes
Jakiw Schelesnjak, who was active for Dynamo Odessa, took part in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich in the competition on the running target over 50 m. He scored a total of 569 points, which was a new world record. So he finally took first place and became Olympic champion . At world championships he was world champion six times with the team. In 1966 in Wiesbaden , 1973 in Melbourne , 1974 in Bern and 1975 in Munich, he and the team secured the title in the normal run, as well as in 1973 and 1974 in the mixed run.
