Jakob Baumann (Abbot)
Jakob Baumann (* approx. 1491 ; † 1562 ) was the last abbot of the Cistercian monastery Dargun .
Baumann came from Stendal and had been a porter and monk of the Cistercian monastery in Himmelpfort before his election as abbot of Dargun in 1549 . On March 6, 1552 he accepted the secularization of Dargun Monastery without resistance ; then became the first Protestant pastor in nearby Röcknitz , later called Dargun, and married.
