Jakob Beinhart (also Jakob Beynhard, Beynhardt, Peynhart, * around 1460 in Geislingen an der Steige ; † around 1525 in Breslau ) was a painter and sculptor from Breslau.

Jakob Beinhart accepted the citizenship of Breslau on February 14, 1483. In the following year he was entered in the register of masters of the painters and sculptors guild and elected several times as the oldest of the guild. He was the owner of several properties in Wroclaw. His son Christoph, also a sculptor, had his own workshop since 1521. He died around 1546.

Jakob Beinhart trained many apprentices in his workshop, including his cousins ​​Antonius (1498), Caspar (1505) and Hans (1506). He got a lot of commissions, which harmed the artistic and craftsmanship quality of his works.

His only hand-made work is the figure of Mary carved in sandstone with the baby Jesus on the northern side of the sacristy of the Magdalenenkirche in Breslau . On the base plate it bears the inscription: "Jacob 1499 Beynhart".

Numerous altar sculptures in the churches of Silesia were created in his workshop. a. in Münsterberg in Silesia , the altarpiece of the Lukas Altar in the Magdalenenkirche in Wroclaw, the winged altar of Mary with Child Jesus in Góra (now in the Poznan Cathedral ), the winged altar in the Kreuzkirche in Steinau an der Oder (now in the Cistercian church in Mogiła near Krakow ), the winged altar of the Coronation of Mary in the church in Thiemendorf and the altar of the Golden Madonna in the former Franciscan church in Görlitz (around 1510).
