Jakob "Köbi" Brechbühl (born January 29, 1952 ) is a former Swiss football player . He played in the position of defender and in midfield from 1971 to 1983 at BSC Young Boys . In 1977 he won the Swiss Cup with the Bernese . Brechbühl was known for his powerful shot from a distance. He played 20 international matches for the Swiss national soccer team. His son Marc Brechbühl (* 1976) was also active as a football player and played a large part of his career at FC Münsingen and, like his father, previously at theYoung boys .
