Jakob Gruber (musician)
Jakob Gruber (born December 25, 1855 in Regensburg , † July 2, 1908 in Munich ) was a German composer , organist and choir director .
Life
Gruber first worked as a choirmaster at the Catholic parish of Mater Dolorosa in Pyrbaum and in 1890 moved as choir regent to Munich to St. Peter , the oldest mentioned parish church in Munich and one of the city's landmarks. He was also known as a virtuoso on the zither , for which he also composed.
His estate is in the Bavarian State Library .
He was the holder of the ducal art medal.
