Jakob Rych (Schultheiss, before 1380)

Jakob Rych ; Also Jacques Dives or Jacob Ritsch (first mentioned in 1380, † before 1394) was a Schultheiss in Friborg ( Switzerland ).

Life

Jakob Rych came from a wealthy Freiburg bourgeois family and was the son of Aimon Rych (* before 1340, † after 1359) and his wife Agnes, as well as the grandson of the grandfather of the same name, Jakob Rych († March 23, 1356), who was mayor in Freiburg several times .

He owned some estates in the Gruyère and Waadtland and was Vogt of Nidau from 1380 to 1385 . From 1385 to 1387 he held the office of mayor in Freiburg.

Jakob Rych was married to Agnes (* before 1399; † approx. 1435), daughter of Niklaus de Vuippens. They had two children together:

  • Peter Rych († approx. 1430), nobleman and married in first marriage to Agnes von Seftigen and in second marriage to Margaretha von Düdingen;
  • Elisine Rych, married to Hans (* before 1370; † unknown), Schultheiss in Freiburg and son of Rudolf von Düdingen.
