Jakob Rych (Schultheiss, before 1291)
Jakob Rych ; Also Jacques Dives or Jacob Ritsch (first time in 1291 as a citizen of Friborg mentioned, † unknown) was a Schultheiss in Friborg (Switzerland).
Life
Jakob Rych came from a rich Freiburg bourgeois family and was the son of Peter Rych (also Petrus Dives the Younger ) and his wife Nicoleta. His brother was Peter Rych , Cistercian abbot of Hauterive Abbey .
In the period from 1310 to 1312 as well as in 1315, 1327 and 1341 he was mayor in Freiburg; In 1329 he became rector of the Liebfrauenspital.
He renewed Freiburg's alliances of castle rights treaties in 1310 with Laupen and in 1311 with the city of Biel .
Jakob Rych was married, the names of his children are known:
- Aimon Rych (* before 1340; † after 1359), married to Agnes, their child was the future mayor Jakob Rych from Freiburg ;
- Jakob Rych († 1395), married to Antonia († 1421), daughter of Jakob von Seftigen († after 1383), Schultheiss in Bern .
