Jakob Weil
Jakob ben Jehuda Weil from Weil der Stadt in Württemberg was a German-Jewish Talmudist who lived and worked around 1400 and was the progenitor of the Ashkenazi family of the same name .
Among other things, he wrote Sh'chitot u-W'dikot ("Slaughter and Investigation", first edition Prague 1549), a widespread manual on the Schechita .
Jakob Weil was a supporter of the Pilpul method .
