James Alfred Loader
James Alfred Loader (born July 12, 1945 in Pretoria ) is a South African Protestant theologian .
Life
From 1979 to 1980, James Alfred Loader taught as Professor of Semitic Languages and the Old Testament at the University of Pretoria . From 1980 to 1997 he was Professor of the Old Testament at the University of South Africa (UNISA). From 1997 to 2013 he took on a teaching position as a full professor for Old Testament science and biblical archeology at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Vienna . The University of Pretoria awarded him a Doctor Philosophiae honoris causa in April 2009. He is an ordained pastor of the Dutch Reformed Church in South Africa .
