James Anthony Charles

James Anthony Charles is a British graduate civil engineer in geotechnical engineering . Charles was at the Building Research Establishment (BRE). He is particularly concerned with the geotechnical engineering of backfill construction and soil improvement.

In 2008 he was a Rankine Lecturer (The engineering behavior of fill - the use, misuse and disuse of case histories).
