James Bartlett

James Bartlett ( James Alfred "Jimmy" Bartlett; born December 29, 1907 in Oshawa ; year of death unknown) was a Canadian marathon runner .

In 1931 he was ninth in 2:56:49 h in the Canadian qualifying for the 1932 Olympic Games .

In 1933 he was Canadian runner-up in 2:48:56 h and won the marathon around the Couchiching Lake in 2:50:18 h. The following year he was again national runner-up in 2:44:38 h and won a marathon in Montreal in 2:46:32 h. After a fourth place at the Canadian Championship in 1935, he came in at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin on 15th place in 2:48:22 h.

In 1937 he was third in the US Championship, won the Canadian Championship in 2:41:30 h and came in sixth place in the Yonkers Marathon . The following year he was fifth at the British Empire Games in Sydney , won a marathon in Hamilton with his personal best of 2:36:35 h and was fourth in the Canadian Championship.
