James Dunn (soccer player)

James Dunn (born November 25, 1900 in Glasgow , † August 20, 1963 ) was a Scottish football player .

life and career

Dunn, who got the nickname "ginger" ( dt. 'Redhead') because of his hair color, began his professional career in 1920 at Hibernian Edinburgh , where he stayed until 1928. After a good game for the Scottish national football team against England in 1928, he was signed by the English club Everton . With the Toffees he won the English championship in 1932 and the English Cup in the same year. After only two one-year stints at Exeter City and Runcorn FC, he ended his active career in 1937. Internationally, Dunn played four times for the Scottish national football team. He made his debut against Wales in 1925 . Dunn's son James Dunn Jr. won in 1949 with the Wolverhampton Wanderers also the FA Cup. James Dunn died in 1963 at the age of 62.
