James Morris (born April 22, 1994 in Melbourne ) is an Australian chess player .
Life
James Morris attended Caulfied South Primary School in Caulfield , then Essex Heights Primary School and University High School in Parkville . He studies sports in Melbourne.
successes
At the zone tournament in Nadi in May 2007 he received the title of FIDE master for his result of 5 points from 9 games . At the zone tournament in Gold Coast in June 2009, he finished second behind David Smerdon and received the title of International Master for his result of 6.5 out of 9 .
He won various junior championships of the Chess Federation of the State of Victoria ( Victoria Chess ), namely the U14 championship in Canterbury in 2005 and with a result of 9 out of 9 the U18 championships in 2011 and 2012. In the adults he won the individual championship of Victoria in Melbourne 2012 with two points ahead of the runner-up Guy West .
