James Rutherford

James Rutherford (born May 29, 1972 in Norwich ) is an English opera singer ( baritone ).

Life

Rutherford graduated from the Royal College of Music and the National Opera Studio in London . So far he has been involved a. at the Opéra de Paris, the Welsh National Opera, the Opera North, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the English National Opera, the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, the Hamburgische Staatsoper (Giorgio Germont in Verdis La Traviata ), the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the San Francisco Opera (Wolfram in Wagner's Tannhäuser ), as well as at the festivals in Buxton, Montpellier and Innsbruck.

As Hans Sachs in Wagner's opera Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg , he appeared at the Bayreuth and Glyndebourne Festival , in Cologne, at the Vienna State Opera, in Hamburg and in Budapest.
