James R. Walker (* 1897 , † after 1924) was a South African racing cyclist .

In 1920 James Walker competed in five different disciplines on the road and rail at the Olympic Games in Antwerp . Together with Henry Kaltenbrunn he won silver in the tandem race . In the team pursuit he won bronze with Kaltenbrunn, Bill Smith and Sammy Goosen .

In the Olympic year, James Walker won four out of five competitions (1/4, 1/2, 5, 10 miles) at the South African Track Championships. In 1922 he became national champion over the five and ten miles, in 1923 over the quarter, half and ten miles and in 1924 over the quarter and ten miles.
