Jamie Blanks

Jamie Blanks is an Australian film director and film composer .

Life

Blanks attended Swinburne Film School in Melbourne for three years , which became the Victorian College of the Arts during his studies. His graduation film was the short film Silent Number , which cost A $ 14,000 .

His graduation film brought Blanks to Propaganda Films' talent scout Simon Millar, who signed him for management. Blanks filmed a 3-minute trailer for the motion picture I Know What You Did last summer . However, the direction of the film was already occupied by Jim Gillespie , who had signed the contract three days before. However, producer Neal H. Moritz was impressed by Blanks and produced with him Blanks debut feature film Düstere Legenden , which Blanks directed at the age of 26. After this success, Blanks directed and was responsible for the composition of the films Storm Warning - Survival May Be Deadly ( Storm Warning ) and Long Weekend, among others .

His film Storm Warning - Survival can be fatal was shown at the 21st Fantasy Filmfest 2007 in the category Midnight Madness . In 2009 his film Long Weekend was shown at the Fantasy Filmfest in the FFF Nights category .
