The Jan Wellem Chapel (Kreuzkapelle) at Fährstrasse 95 in Düsseldorf-Hamm was donated in 1658 by Philipp Wilhelm out of gratitude for the birth of his son Johann Wilhelm, known as Jan Wellem . Jörg Heimeshoff describes the Renaissance chapel , which was completed in 1660 and renovated in 1990 :

“The plastered chapel stands north of Fährstraße on a hill in a cemetery. The chapel was completed in 1660. It is a square building with a narrower, attached choir bay. A lunette between the pilasters illuminates the chapel. The masonry is completed by a strongly structured framework. The entrance is arched and is opposite the choir. The interior is octagonal. The Chorjoch has a groin vault. "

The sacred building also served as the destination of a way of the cross. The distance from the Düsseldorf Residenzschloss to the chapel was the assumed distance between the Pilate's courtroom and Mount Golgotha. The service was carried out by the Jesuits until secularization.

The chapel served since 1958 as the church of the Orthodox Parish of the Holy Archangels , which belongs to the exarchate of the Orthodox communities of Russian tradition in Western Europe of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople . After she moved to a larger church in 2008, she left the church to the Georgian Orthodox parish "Saint Antimos from Iveria" for regular use, but is still the owner.
