Jan Aleksander Gorczyn
Jan Aleksander Gorczyn (* 1618 in Kraków ; † after 1704) was a Polish printer, publisher, engraver, writer and composer.
Gorczyn studied from 1634 at the art faculty of the Krakow Academy, but without obtaining a degree, and then became a printer. In 1647 he published the arithmetic textbook Nowy sposób arytmetyki and Tabulatura muzyki, albo Zaprawa muzykalna , a music manual . 1661–62 he lived in Warsaw, where he edited the weekly Merkuryusz Polski . Gaude's own composition was mentioned in the 19th century, but is now considered lost.
