Jan Bathien

Jan Badien (* August 1947 ) is a German Protestant pastor and theological author.

Baden studied Protestant theology and German literature in Heidelberg and Zurich from 1966 . In 1978 he received his doctorate for a thesis on church history ( theology of history and social criticism in the work of Salvians von Marseille , Göttingen 1980) as Dr. theol. In 1979 he became head of studies at the Theological Study House in Heidelberg, and from 1980 pastor in Überlingen . From 1995 to 2012 he was director of the academy at the Evangelical Academy in Baden and the representative of the Evangelical Church in Baden for ideological issues. From 2002 to 2006 he was a member of the board of trustees of the Evangelical Central Office for Weltanschauungsfragen , from 2009 to 2012 chairman of the conference of regional church representatives for worldview issues.
