Jan Bokemeyer

Jan Bokemeyer (born February 15, 1970 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a former German basketball player .

Life

In the summer of 1987, Bokemeyer took part with the German selection at the European Cadet Championships in Hungary and came to an average of four points per match over the course of the tournament. The 1.96 meter tall winger moved from MTV Gießen via EOSC Offenbach to TV Lich , with whom he made promotion to the basketball league in the 1998/99 season and thus achieved the greatest success in the history of the Lich basketball department. He was one of the top performers in the championship team. In the top German league, Bokemeyer played 26 games for Lich in 1999/2000 and was third-best Lich scorer behind Tyron McCoy and Fred Williams with 258 points (9.9 on average per encounter) . He delivered the record of his first division time in December 1999 when Bokemeyer scored 16 points against Frankfurt. After relegation from the Bundesliga, Bokemeyer, who studied veterinary medicine at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen from 1991 to 1997 , played for Lich in the second division for another year before concentrating on his job. As a veterinarian, he worked temporarily at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (2002 to 2007) and from 2007 again at the Giessen Small Animal Clinic. In 2014 he started his own business as the head of the Kalbach veterinary clinic he founded in Frankfurt am Main.
