Jan Jansz Beth

Jan Jansz Beth (* 1430 in Amsterdam ; † 1488 ibid) was a regent of Amsterdam .

The son of the father of the same name has owned the city hostel De Witte Hond in Warmoesstraat since 1456 . In 1464, 1466 and 168 he appeared as a Schepen of the city government. In 1470, 1473, 1477, 1478, 1480, 1481, 1484 and 1487 he had presided over the city as mayor .

Beth had four children, including two daughters with the ruling mayor: Alyrt Jansdr Beth with Floris Jansz the Otter and Mary Jansdr Beth with Andries Boelens . Beth's son Jan Janszoon Beth also became mayor (1494 and 1496).
