Jan Merell

Jan Merell (born May 10, 1904 in Prague , Austria-Hungary ; died September 22, 1986 in Prague, Czechoslovakia ) was a Czech theologian.

Life

Merell was arrested in 1943 for still lecturing after the universities had closed. He was initially imprisoned in the Small Fortress Theresienstadt and was later transferred to the Dachau concentration camp . Merell saw the liberation.

Merell was a lecturer at the Theological Faculty of Charles University in Prague. He later became dean of the Faculty of Sancti Cyrillus et Methodius in Litoměřice , Prague .
