Jan Paul Schutten (born November 30, 1970 in Vlissingen , Netherlands ) is a Dutch writer who mainly writes books for children and young people.

Life

Schutten studied communication science in Utrecht and then worked as a copywriter in an advertising agency. In 2002 he published his first children's book Ruik eens wat ik zeg (' Smell what I'm saying to you'). A few years later he quit his job in the advertising agency and devoted himself entirely to writing. Since then he has written over forty books for children and young people in the Netherlands, some of which have been translated into more than ten languages. Schutten mainly writes informative books, including about animals, history and science.
