Dundee Castle
Dundee Castle is an Outbound castle in the Scottish city of Dundee . Today it is replaced by St Paul's Cathedral .
In the 13th century, Dundee was named Royal Burgh by King William the Lion . William Wallace besieged the castle in 1297, before the Battle of Stirling Bridge . Already in 1296 and again in 1303 Dundee Castle was taken by the English . King Edward I of England visited the castle both times and had repairs carried out there. The Scottish King Robert the Bruce recaptured the castle in 1313 and had it destroyed.
