Jan Pavel

Jan Pavel (born March 19, 1946 in Doloplazy ) is a Czech composer, conductor and music teacher.

Pavel studied at the Kroměříž Conservatory and then worked as a music teacher, choir director and conductor; u. a. he performed with the Czech Radio and Czech TV Orchestras. He works as a music teacher at schools in Olomouc and teaches choir conducting and conducting at the Palacký University in Olomouc . Until the Velvet Revolution in 1989 he hardly appeared in public as a composer and composed mainly pieces for music lessons and church music. After 1989 he wrote compositions mainly for wind ensemble and transcriptions for tuba, euphonium, trombone and horn.
