Jan Schäfer-Kunz

Jan Schäfer-Kunz (born June 21, 1964 in London ) is a German engineer and economist .

Life

Jan Schäfer-Kunz was born at Chiswick Maternity Hospital in the Ealing district of London . His parents were living in London at the time because his father worked at Shell's corporate headquarters . Jan Schäfer-Kunz grew up in Hamburg, Karlsruhe and Stuttgart and studied mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart from 1983 . He graduated in 1987 with a degree in engineering. From 1988 to 1989, Schäfer-Kunz completed his military service on the command staff of the German Army . He then began a two-year trainee program at Robert Bosch GmbH in 1989 and then worked for six months in production coordination for foreign companies. At the same time, Schäfer-Kunz took up a degree in business administration - again at the University of Stuttgart - which he successfully completed in 1992 with a degree in business administration. He then completed his doctorate at the University of Stuttgart in 1995 as a doctor of economics and social sciences. From 1994 to 1999 he worked at the Fraunhofer Society. Since 1999 he has been professor of business administration with a focus on accounting at Esslingen University .
