Jan Schiffer

Karl Jan Schiffer (born May 3, 1958 in Wuppertal ) is a German author, lecturer and doctor of law.

Schiffer is the founder of the law firm SP§P Schiffer & Partner in Bonn and head of the practice institute for liability and risk issues in companies as well as the specialist auditor of the German Foundation Academy . Schiffer comments in respected specialist comments and regularly publishes specialist books and specialist articles. Schiffer is active in the supervisory bodies of the companies Heine + Beisswenger , Vogel Business Media and Merkur Thorhauer.

Life

Schiffer did his doctorate in international commercial arbitration at the University of Cologne and began his career as a litigator.

Schiffer has been advising companies and organizations on topics such as foundation law, corporate succession and liability issues since 1990.

As a legal scholar, he lectures for various advanced training institutions, including a. he is visiting lecturer at the Federal Finance Academy. In 2009, Schiffer was voted one of the top 25 inheritance lawyers in Germany by Wirtschaftswoche . On behalf of the then Bavarian Minister of Culture Hans Zehetmair (CSU), Schiffer drew up an expert opinion in 2002 on Wolfgang Wagner's succession as director of the Bayreuth Festival.

In the context of the discussion about the amount of the remuneration of managers, Schiffer takes the view that the manager's remuneration is not unlimitedly deductible business expenses. The problem can therefore already be solved within the framework of the existing tax laws.
