The Jane Col is a mountain pass on Signy Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It runs west of Jane Peak at the head of the Limestone Valley .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1974 based on the name of Jane Peak. Its namesake is the brig Jane of the British navigator James Weddell .
