Janet Echelman (born February 19, 1966 in Tampa ) is an American artist. Her works are fishnet-like sculptures in public spaces. Echelman studied visual arts at Bard College, New York . She taught at Harvard University . In 2011 she spoke at the TED conference .

Echelman has two children.
