Yangtze River floods in 1998

The 1998 Yangtze River floods ( 1998 年 中国 洪水 ) were floods that occurred on the Yangtze River in the People's Republic of China from mid-June to early September 1998 .

It was estimated to be the largest flood in China in 40 years. There were 3,704 dead, 15 million homeless and economic damage of $ 26 billion.
