The Janny's Eis Franchise GmbH is the largest German franchise -Unternehmen for the ice cream and is based in Seevetal , district of Harburg , Lower Saxony . The managing directors are Mathias Casanova, Markus Elberg, Rainer Gößwald and Michael Lautenschlager.
The company was founded in 1982 and has been a subsidiary of the Schöller Group , Nuremberg , since 1989 . At the beginning of 2008 the company had 180 branches in northern and eastern Germany. According to the JEF GmbH website, the number of branches decreased to around 160 in 2011, and in 2016 to 140. The annual sales of individual branches are according to their own information between € 120,000 and € 450,000. In 2015, the annual turnover of the entire company was € 27.8 million.
Most of Janny's ice cream shops are open from mid-February to the end of October. Some locations are open all year round with their ice cream, coffee and snacks products. Janny's Eis Franchise GmbH has been a full member of the German Franchise Association since May 1991. In addition to various types of ice cream, the offerings of Janny's Eis branches now also include baked goods, snacks and coffee specialties.
