Januário da Costa Pereira is an East Timorese politician from the Congresso Nacional da Reconstrução Timorense (CNRT) party.

In the fifth government since the independence of East Timor, Pereira was sworn in under Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão on August 8, 2012, as State Secretary for Electricity, Water and Urbanization. With the government reshuffle on February 16, 2015 under the new Prime Minister Rui Maria de Araújo , Pereira was in the VI. Government promoted to Vice Minister for Public Works, Transport and Telecommunications I.

In October 2016, Pereira was interviewed by the Comissão Anti-Corrupção (CAC). It was about the allegation that he had bought private vehicles with government funds.

When the VII government took office on September 15, 2017, Pereira's term in the cabinet ended. The CNRT went into opposition after heavy losses in the parliamentary elections .
