Japan Post Co., Ltd. ( English ; Japanese 日本 郵 便 株式会社 , Nippon Yū-bin Kabushiki kaisha ), short: Nippon Yūbin ( 日本 郵 便 ), is a Japanese postal, logistics and courier company based in Chiyoda , Tokyo and a wholly owned subsidiary of JP Group . It has a monopoly in the postal industry in Japan.

history

Japan Post Service and Japan Post Network were established on October 1, 2007 in preparation for the transformation of the public post into a private company. They were both wholly owned by JP Group .

On October 1, 2012, the operator of the mail delivery services joined the Japan Post Service ( 郵 便 事業 株式会社 , Yūbin Jigyō KK ) and the operator of the post offices the Japan Post Network ( 郵 便 局 株式会社 , Yūbin Kyoku KK ) to the Japan Post Co., Ltd. ( 日本 郵 便 株式会社 , Nippon Yū-bin KK ) together.
