Jaques Wagner
Jaques Wagner (born March 16, 1951 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian politician of the Partido dos Trabalhadores (Labor Party). From January to October 2015 he was his country's defense minister .
Life
Wagner is a founding member of the Partido dos Trabalhadores. In 1990 he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress as a member of the State of Bahia . In 2003 he was briefly Minister of Labor in the government cabinet of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva . As the successor to Paulo Souto , he was governor of the state of Bahia from January 2007 to January 1, 2015. His successor was Rui Costa when he took office on January 1, 2015 .
