Jari Sinkari (2019)

Jari Sinkari (born March 14, 1964 ) is a Finnish diplomat.

Career

Sinkari received a Master of Science degree in political history from the University of Helsinki in 1994 . Until 1997 he was co-editor of the university magazine Yliopisto , which dealt with science, higher education and culture.

From 1997 to 1998, Sinkari was Attaché at the Development Cooperation and External Economic Relations Department, then from 1998 to 2001 Second Secretary of the Finnish Embassy in Tokyo ( Japan ). From 2001 to 2005 he was Deputy Consul General in New York and from 2005 to 2007 he was Desk Officer for Japan, Korea and Oceania in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Asia and Oceania Department. From 2007 to 2010 Sinkari was a consultant and editor of Kauppapolitiikka, a trade policy magazine, and responsible for communication on trade policy issues with Finnish stakeholders in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This was followed in 2010 as Director of the Department of Communication in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, before Sinkari became Deputy Director General of the Department of Communication and Culture in 2011.

From 2014 to 2018 Sinkari was the Finnish Consul General for Hong Kong and Macau . On September 1, 2018, he was appointed Finnish Ambassador to Jakarta . On November 8, 2018, Sinkari handed over his accreditation for Indonesia , on February 19, 2019 for ASEAN and on July 16, 2019 for East Timor .
