Jason Island

Jason Island is an island off the north coast of South Georgia . It is located immediately east of Castor Point and 1.5 km north of Larsen Point before the entrance to Cumberland Bay .

The island is named after the ship Jason , with which the Norwegian whaling entrepreneur Carl Anton Larsen explored Cumberland Bay between 1893 and 1894 during his Antarctic voyage (1892-1894).
