Jason Zinoman

Jason Brook Zinoman (born October 19, 1975 in Washington, DC ) is an American journalist , critic and non-fiction author .

Life

Jason Zinoman is the son of Joy Zinoman, who founded the renowned theater production company Studio Theater in 1978 . He studied at the University of Chicago from 1993 to 1997 . From 2001 he was employed as a theater critic at Time Out New York . During this time he wrote articles for the New York Times as a freelance journalist . From 2003 he was hired by the Times as a theater journalist. In addition to theater criticism, Zinoman also works as a film critic for the Times . Since 2011 he has also worked as a comedy critic.

Zinoman made his debut as a non-fiction author in 2011 with Shock Value . In it he describes the change in the horror film genre from the 1960s to the present day. In 2017, Letterman: The Last Giant of Late Night followed, a biography about television presenter David Letterman .
