The Jatiyo Sriti Shoudho ( Bengali জাতীয় স্মৃতি সৌধ jātīẏa smṛti saudha ; German: National Märtyrerdenkmal ) is a monument in Bangladesh . It commemorates the soldiers from Bangladesh who lost their lives in the Bangladesh war for the country's independence. It is dedicated to the symbol of their bravery and the memory of the victims among the Bangladeshi soldiers. The monument is located in Sabhar , about 35 km northwest of the capital Dhaka . It was designed by architect Syed Mainul Hossain in 1978.

structure

The monument consists of seven isosceles triangles arranged in a pyramidal shape, the middle one being the tallest. The highest point of the monument is about 46 meters high. There is an artificial lake and several mass graves in front of the monument.
