Javier Méndez , full name Heber Javier Méndez Leiva , (born November 6, 1982 in Montevideo , Uruguay) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

According to his club, the 1.71 meter tall midfielder Méndez was at the beginning of his career since the Apertura 2003, in which eight second division appearances are made for him, in the ranks of Club Atlético Progreso . In the 2008/09 season he played for Central Español . Via a station at El Tanque Sisley that he started in August 2009 , his path led to Brazil in mid-September 2010 . There he was active at Paraná Clube until mid-May 2011 . There he completed 22 league games (no goal) and two cup games (no goal). Then he was in the ranks of Iguaçu Agex until the beginning of October 2011 . This was followed by a year with J. Malucelli with 17 appearances (no goal) in Paranaense 1 . In 2012, he was partially assigned a position at Corinthians Paranaense . In 2012/13 he played for the Uruguayan second division club Sportivo Cerrito . For the 2013/14 season he moved to Club Atlético Cerro . In that season he made 16 appearances in the Primera División there until the end of the Clausura 2014 . He was then listed as an exit with an initially unknown goal. In early September 2014 he joined the second division club Cerro Largo FC . There he completed 20 second division games in the 2014/15 season and scored three goals. From the beginning of August 2015, he continued his career with the first division club Atlético Rentistas , for which he played 18 league games (no goal) in the 2015/16 season. The team was relegated at the end of the season. In mid-August 2016, he moved back to Club Atlético Progreso.
