Jay Dennis Hayes (born June 14, 1957 in Hartford , Connecticut ) is a Canadian show jumper .

Hayes began to ride when he was twelve.

Private

After marrying Shawn Carpenter, with whom he has three daughters, he moved to Canada and became a Canadian citizen in 1985. The family lives in Orangeville, Ontario .

The show jumper Mac Cone is his brother-in-law.
