Jean-Claude Denis (born January 1, 1951 in Paris ) is a French comic artist .

After studying “visual communication” at the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs de Paris , he worked as an advertising artist and book cover illustrator. In the 1980s he published in the magazine (à suivre) the adventures of the lovable and clumsy city dweller Luc Leroi (German: Luc Lamarc ), which have been reprinted in eight albums so far. At the same time he drew the children's series Rup Bonchemin for the Casterman publishing house . At that time he was active as a musician in the group Dennis' Twist . In the next few years he published mostly single albums, including some children's comics.

In 2012 he was awarded the Grand Prix de la Ville d'Angoulême .
