Jean-Claude Veilhan

Jean-Claude Veilhan (born February 9, 1940 in Nice ) is a French composer , recorder and clarinetist .

Live and act

Jean-Claude Veilhan studied clarinet at the Regional Conservatory of Versailles and chamber music at the École Normale de Musique de Paris , as a student of Jean Françaix . He also studied the recorder playing with the help of historical textbooks. Veilhan taught at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Lyon and at the municipal conservatory in Saint-Ouen .

Veilhan appeared regularly with various ensembles, for example under the direction of Jean-Claude Malgoire and Jean Maillet, including as a soloist with the Chalumeau . He also plays the cromorne français , a bass instrument from around 1700, from the reed family .
