Jean-Claude Voisin (born November 6, 1949 in Salins-les-Bains , Jura department ) is a French art historian.

Voisin studied the history of the Middle Ages. From 1976 to 1984 he was archivist for the city of Montbéliard . After receiving his doctorate in history and archeology of the Middle Ages in 1982, he took over the management of the monument preservation department in the city council of Montbéliard in 1984 and in 1989 became head of the city's culture and monument preservation department. In 1995 he moved to Beirut as director of the French Cultural Institute . Since September 2000 he has been the representative of the French Embassy in Berlin for Thuringian-French cooperation.

In August 2004 , the Thuringian Prime Minister Dieter Althaus awarded Voisin the Thuringian Order of Merit for his commitment to the relationship between Thuringia and its partner region Picardy .
