Jean-Guy Brunet

Jean-Guy Brunet (born April 26, 1939 in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts , Québec ) is a former Canadian ski racer .

Brunet was a member of the Canadian national ski team in the 1950s and 1960s. He represented his country at the Winter Olympics in 1960 and 1964 and at the 1962 World Cup in Chamonix . In these competitions he had to admit defeat to the European competition. His best result was a 14th place in the slalom in 1962. Brunet won six Canadian championship titles (Downhill 1962, 1963 and 1964; Giant Slalom 1962; Slalom 1961, Combination 1964).

After finishing his active career, Brunet remained connected to alpine skiing. He became a member of the Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance in 1965 and worked as a ski trainer for a long time. He was inducted into the Canada Ski Museum Hall of Fame in 1999 for his services to the sport .
