Jean-Michel Marlaud (born November 3, 1953 ) is a French ambassador .

Life

Jean-Michel Marlaud studied law and obtained a Diplôme de l'Institut d'études politiques - Diploma of the Institute for Political Studies, is a graduate of the École nationale d'administration . He received his doctorate in 1978 on the subject of "Pierre Mendes France". From 1978 to 1979 he was promoted from second-class embassy secretary to first-class embassy secretary at Suharto in Jakarta . From 1981 to 1983 he was employed at the Quai d'Orsay in the North Africa and Middle East department. From 1983 to 1986 he advised Édith Cresson . From 1986 to 1988 he was a culture and science attaché in Seoul . From 1981 to 1983 he was employed at the Quai d'Orsay in the economics and finance department.

From 1993 to 1994 he was ambassador to Juvénal Habyarimana in Kigali , Rwanda . From 1994 to 1998 he was ambassador to La Paz in Bolivia . From 1998 to 2003 he headed the HR department at the Quai d'Orsay. From September 2003 to May 2007 he was Ambassador to Wellington , New Zealand . From May 2007 to 2010 he was ambassador to Álvaro Uribe Vélez in Bogotá , Colombia .
